The Forum Junge Spitzenforschung is back for its 13th edition — and in 2026, it’s all about one thing: Resilient Energy Infrastructure. From the energy and molecular transition to crisis-proof digital grids, we’re looking for applied research ideas that make our energy systems robust when it matters most. Think smart grid innovations, novel and reliable fall-back solutions for energy supply in critical infrastructures like hospitals, new routes to electricity and fuels from renewables, or smarter, more sustainable energy storage. The prizes will be awarded by the Stiftung Industrieforschung to early-career researchers whose excellent research could power the next product or service innovation.

The finalists pitch their research live in front of an industry expert jury.

We are looking for high-potential researchers – doctoral students, PostDocs, research assistants, junior professors or senior physicians – in Berlin who are ready to take their solutions out of the lab and into industry.
